San Antonio, Texas is considered "The Heavy Metal Capitol" of the United States to a great many people. This stems back to "The Godfather" Joe Anthony, a famous DJ that would break out hundreds of metal bands that other stations and DJ's paid no mind to. Bands would, and still do, go out of their way to make sure their tours included San Antonio. Joe Anthony gave breaks to several famous bands of today before anyone else played or promoted them. Rest In Peace brother!
