Rob Shimonski is a musician, audio engineer and producer. He is known for being an original forming member of Pyrexia, having played both guitar and bass for the band throughout the years. Currently he is an independent artist working on producing, audio engineering, advanced DAW designs, Pro Tools system build-outs and high-end mastering solutions. Rob has spent almost three decades in the music scene and was one of the front runners who helped define the NY Death Metal scene. Rob has been noted for writing the original material for Liturgy of Impurity and the tracks: Abominat, God, Demigod and Liturgy of Impurity on Sermon of Mockery. After leaving Pyrexia, Rob spent the rest of his music career developing his engineering skills and helped build multiple studios in NY. Rob has played drums, bass and guitar as a studio musician and later rejoined Pyrexia to assist on the end of the Age of the Wicked tour to play a handful of festivals and a reunion show. Rob is also known for his written works and publishing. Rob has written for Guitar Player magazine, Bass Player magazine, EQ magazine and the Focal Press. In 2009, Rob released a book titled The Pro Tools 8 Kit: The complete professional workflow for music production which he co-authored with long time friend, Chris Basile also of Pyrexia.
