Doug Ingle is a founding member, organist, vocalist and primary composer of Iron Butterfly. Doug became physically and emotionally exhausted after several years of nonstop touring and resigned from the group in 1971. He has toured during the 1980's occasionally with the band, since that time, he has not been involved with any of the group's later recordings or tours.
As of April 2009 Doug Ingle has returned to music, as evidenced by his new MySpace Page. He currently has ten songs posted, all being keyboard instrumentals.
Doug has a son who is also an organist, Doug Ingle, Jr
His father Lloyd, a church organist, introduced him to music at an early age.
