Chris McLaren is a musician from CT. His first band was G-Lock, a hard rock / metal band from Centerbrook CT.

Initially, he was a guitar student (at age 12) of G-Lock guitarist, Frank Tomas in 1996. Seeing that music was natural to Chris, Frank recruited him as the bassist for G-Lock. Chris was with the band for roughly 1 year.

At age 12, McLaren was one of the best bassists the band ever had. While the rest of the band was in their mid 20's, and so were most other bassists, McLaren was at the top of the list. Frank nicknamed him Myung, after the bassist for Dream Theater, John R. Myung, as a testament to his bassist skills.

Chris has an older brother, Andrew K. (Andy). Andy was also a guitar student of Tomas around the same time, but it is unknown if either of them still play in bands.
