Call of the Mastodon is a compilation of early songs from Mastodon. It was released on February 7, 2006, by Relapse Records. On the documentary of the making of Crack the Skye, the band stated that "Call of the Mastodon" is their third studio album, because it sounds different from their previous albums Remission and Leviathan.
