He was formally in the bands ''Käsi'', as the vocalist & ''The Candles Burning Blue'', as the drummer. In 1999, he founded Sinisthra with Markku Mäkinen under the name Evergreen. He performs both harsh and clean vocals, a contrast to the traditional [[heavy metal]] and punk rock stylish high-pitched voice of former [[Amorphis]] singer [[Pasi Koskinen]].
