The MTH 50 was initially called 6899TH double tom holder. It was used on the 1986 [[Tama Crestar]] series. It is also referred to that in the 1986 [[Tama Artstar 2]] / Artstar 2 Customs catalog. During later 1986, it was first referred to as the MTH50 ''(MSH40 as a single tom holder)'' in the [[Tama Granstar]] catalog.
In 1994, Tama came out with the [[Tama Artstar ES]] ''(Esprit)'' series than was less money than Artstar and Granstar, but more than Rockstar DX. It combined some of the features of those 3 series. The MTH200 tom holder was a hybrid of MTH100 and MTH 300.
