Seymour Duncan (the company) was founded in 1976 by guitarist and luthier Seymour W. Duncan and his wife (at that time) Cathy Carter Duncan in Goleta, California. Seymour Duncan pickups were first used in Kramer Guitars as standard equipment from around 1983-84.Recently, Seymour Duncan has moved into the guitar effects pedal market.
