Pawns of Christ is a metal / death metal band from San Antonio, Texas.

short history

Pawns of Christ first show was in August of 2003. Their next show was during October of 2005 in Corpus Christi with Exodus, Crisis, and 3 Inches of Blood.

biography

Pawns of Christ was created by drummer Mykill in 2001, yet there was no actual band. Pawns really has not been active until winter 2011. June of 2012, they played 1 show locally then disappeared again. During September 2012, the group disbanded due to unknown reasons. March 2013, they re-appeared.

It is stated on their official site, the name of the band, is not anti-religion or meant with any negative connotation. Lyrical content of their songs is mostly about the brutality of this world. The music is diverse, but their roots are "Metal" and Death Metal. Speed picking and up-tempo drum beats with blasts.

2017

January 2017, the band ended due to a serious injury of an unspecified member.

2018

September 2018, the band added front-man. Musically, the band was pretty heavy, but with the addition of a new, deeper vocalist, the group has entered into the genre of brutal death metal. With in a few weeks to a month, they were out on the stage again (06 October 2018). All new lyrical content, new talent, and renewed drive, they seem to be on the right path now. As of November 2018, they are in a studio recording an EP (unknown title).

2019

As of 2019, June, it seems the band is no longer active. Their official facebook page has no one listed under the members section, and no pictures of people. This leads us to believe there is either member replacements going on, or the band is no longer active. this is only speculation
