Eugene "Gene" Victor Hoglan II (08/31/1967 Dallas, Texas). He is known for his creativity in drum arrangements, including usage of odd devices for percussion effects and his trademark lengthy double-kick drum rhythms (he calls "kick triplets"). His technical playing and accurateness at challenging tempos, earned him the nickname "The Atomic Clock". He is known for playing in the bands Dark Angel, Death, Dethklok, Strapping Young Lad , Testament and most recently Fear Factory.


Dino Cazares and Burton C. Bell have reformed Fear Factory, which also features one of his former bandmates from Strapping Young Lad, Byron Stroud. Hoglan will be drumming for Fear Factory from 2009.
