The concept of Pawns of Christ was created by drummer Mykill in 2001, yet there was no actual band. Pawns really has not been active until winter 2011. A CD was in the works and possibly a tour for summer 2012. June of 2012, they played 1 show locally then disappeared again. During September 2012, the group disbanded due to unknown reasons. Their The music is very diverse, but their roots are Thrash "Metal" and Death Metal. Speed picking and up-tempo drum beats with blasts.

During September 2018, the band replaced their vocalist with added Destroyer of Worlds front-man, ''"Carnage"''. Musically, the band was pretty heavy, but with the addition of a new, deeper vocalist, the group has entered into the genre of ''brutal death metal''. With in a few weeks to a month, they were out on the stage again (06 October 2018) with a vengeance. All new lyrical content, new talent, and renewed drive, they seem to be on the right path now. As of November 2018, they are in a studio recording an EP ''(unknown title)''.
